Helpful Hints:
Friday is a regular school day with a rehearsal and performance right after. The students will not have a chance to “run home” to get stuff for performance. They should bring rehearsal clothes, water jug, long black socks, marching shoes and performance wear to school in the morning.
Saturday morning, they should come to rehearsal with everything they need for the trip. We will leave after rehearsal and a quick lunch. We will only be gone for one night… So there shouldn’t be too much luggage, right? However, we may perform twice this weekend, so please pack accordingly and that includes shirts, shorts and long black socks.
The kids will need spending money for the competition if they want to purchase t-shirts, hoodies, etc. They will also need money to cover their lunch on Sunday on the way home. Other than that, they should be good.
Please remind your student that all school rules apply on the trip.
Congratulate your kid for a wonderful season and acknowledge all their hard work and effort.
Thanks to all the parents for their support throughout the season!

This is the final home performance of the Marching Spartans’ 2018 field show, Altered Perspectives, led on the field by senior Drum Major Nathan Chung.
Altered Perspectives places you into the transforming dimensional twisting artwork of M. C. Escher. It is a performance filled with intriguing music, amazing movement, and fabulous stages. Watch as the LCHS Marching Spartans bring art to life! It’s a treat for the eyes and the ears!
The Marching Band and Color Guard will leave Saturday to compete in the Western Band Association Championships in Bakersfield, CA.
In 11 – yes just 11 – short days we’ll be at Championship Weekend!
Friends & Family Show
Friday, November 16th
6pm – LCHS Stadium
Please invite your friends, family, neighbors, teachers — everyone you can think of — to the Friends & Family Show! It’ll be our last home performance before heading out to Championships in Bakersfield.
We will need helpers to plume and gauntlet, so please let Sandy know if you are available.
Championships!
The final itinerary will be up and ready next week, but just for planning purposes…
Friday, November 16th, after school we will rehearse from 3pm to 5:30pm. The students will then change into full uniform and be ready for their Friends & Family performance at 6pm.
We will have a rehearsal on Saturday morning at the high school, just like all competition days this year, probably 8am to 10am. We’ll then load the truck and buses and be off to Bakersfield.
The Band and Guard will perform at 7:23pm at West High School in Bakersfield on Saturday evening. Awards are at 9:20pm. We’ll stay overnight at Homewood Suites, all students have rooms assigned.
We will find out Saturday evening at awards if we qualify for Grand Championships on Sunday, so any performance time will be determined after 9:30pm. We should return to the high school early Sunday evening.
Again, a final detailed itinerary will be shared next week.
